Terms and Conditions

CONDITIONS OF HIRE.

Reservations and Deposit

The confirmation of a reservation will be given once the fully completed booking form along with a deposit of 25% has been received. The hirer will then be responsible for paying the full balance at least 8 weeks before the commencement of their holiday.

Compulsory Damage Waiver Premium

This compulsory insurance ensures that for a "one-off" non-refundable payment of £40.00 you will be covered from any liability for damage or loss to the boat or its contents during your holiday.There are exceptions to this cover for speeding or damage with malicious intent.

Cancellation

Should the hirer cancel the booking the company will try to re-hire the boat at he full price. If this is successful all monies less the deposit will be refunded. However if this cannot be achieved the hirer is legally responsible for making payment for the balance by the due date. The hirer is advised to take out their own cancellation insurance.

CONDITIONS OF USE

Casting Off

Tuition will be given by any RYA qualified member of staff who will make sure that the boat is in good working order and instruction in Lock Operation will be given where necessary.

Under 21's

Bookings will not be accepted from anyone under the age of 21 and No one under the age of 18 should control the boat without the direct supervision of a responsible adult.

Smoking and Pets

Smoking and Pets are not permitted on board the boat.

Navigation Rules

The hirer agrees to abide by the following rules.

EXEMPTIONS

The company shall not be liable for matters arising beyond the company's reasonable control, or not due to the company negligence or wilful default including without limitation, death or personal injury of hirers and their crew or passengers, loss or damage to property, non fulfilment or interruption of the reservation, delays, breakdowns, mechanical problems, defects, damage, restrictions on cruising, obstructions, repairs to waterways, non availability of routes, storms floods droughts ice shortage of water and other weather conditions, non-availability of fuel, or in respect of any loss, damage, expense, injury or claim.

Hirers are advised to take out personal insurance against injury/loss of belongings. No liability can be accepted by the company for any delays or non-completion of planned cruising caused by restrictions, obstructions or repairs to the waterways system or any unforeseen cause.

The company reserves the right to restrict the cruising area without prior notice should any unusual or hazardous conditions occur. We take care to ensure that our boat is serviced regularly and is in good working order. Incase of breakdown or needed repair contact the company immediately whereupon appropriate action will be taken. All repairs are the responsibility of the company and should not be put into the hands of others without the company's express permission.

You must not tow or be allowed to tow another vessel without the company's permission. If the hirer is involved in an accident the following procedures should take place. Contact the company immediately with the following information: registration numbers, boat names, persons involved and witnesses names & addresses. Under no circumstances must the hirer admit liability. Free secure parking is provided but we accept no liability for loss or damage to customers vehicles or their contents.
