Our private marina is situated near the Anderton Boat Lift and has two cafes and two gift shops nearby, with a private secure car park (Cars & Contents are left at owners own risk) The following suggestions are just a few of the many destinations available dependant on time and stamina but we would be happy to help with advice on any route you may choose.

Anderton to Llangollen Return.

Meander to Llangollen on the most beautiful of canals. Without effort, apart from Hurlston &
Brindley Locks. Detour part way along to visit the Montgomery Canal if you have time and then
venture across the Chirk & Pontcycylite Aquaducts before finally cruising to a halt above the
house and the River Dee at Llangollen.

Take your 'Mining Hat' and your singing voice as three tunnels await you on this lovely stretch of farmland bordered canal. On your way to the historic town of Lymm try to stop at both Little Leigh (bridge 208) where a short walk will take you to the Leigh Arms overlooking the River Weaver and Grappenhall (used as a set in Sherlock Holmes Movies).

Turn right at Middlewich and head towards Barbridge Junction but not before chatting to Maureen the friendly Lady Lock Assistant at lock 168. (Stronger than she looks). Church Minshall is a must at bridge 14 as is the Shady Oak Pub by the water mill at bridge 109, before mooring at the bottom of Chester's Staircase Locks.
